For Immediate Release

On January 28, 2008 at 12:34 PM a lone male robber entered the Liberty Savings Bank, located at 9131 South Broadway Street in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.  He threatened that he had a weapon and demanded money.  The robber fled the bank and was seen getting into a cab and leaving the area.  The Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded to the robbery and broadcasted the suspect’s description as well as the taxi cab information.  The Englewood Police Department stopped the taxi cab near the intersection of Broadway Street and Hamden Avenue and made contact with the passenger who matched the description of the robber.  Deputies from the DCSO and Agents for the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force responded to the scene of the traffic stop and were able to determine that the passenger of the taxi was in fact the robber.

The passenger was identified as Charles James Ulrich, date of birth 01/14/1959.  Ulrich was arrested at the scene of the traffic stop and transported by Agents of the RMSSTF.  It is anticipated that Ulrich will face charges in Federal District Court for bank robbery.
