Federal Bureau of Investigation FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: (no arrest photograph
available) The FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force has identified and arrested a serial bank robbery subject, nicknamed by Investigators as Bank Robber BOB. This serial robber has received extensive media attention in the Denver metro area. JOHN LEHMAN, 41 years of age, was arrested on Monday afternoon, September 29th, at 17th and Sheridan, with assistance from the Denver Police Department and Edgewater Police Department. A complaint was filed in the District of Colorado today, charging LEHMAN with bank robbery, in violation of Title 18, United States Code 2113(a). The first and
last bank LEHMAN is suspected of robbing is the Provenant Federal Credit
Union located at 4001 West 16th Avenue, Denver, Colorado. This bank
was robbed three times, on June 13th, July 10th, and September 19, 2008.
In the last robbery on September 19th LEHMAN left the bank with a head
injury as a result of an altercation with bank employees. The investigation
is continuing regarding his possible involvement in other bank robberies
that occurred in the metro area.
