Federal Bureau of Investigation November 7, 2008 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a bank robber who may be armed with a handgun. The most recent robbery was earlier this afternoon, at approximately 12:45 p.m., at the US Bank, 1801 Jackson Street, Golden, Colorado. The robber, dubbed the JV Bandit by investigators, entered the bank and approached a teller. He passed a bank robbery demand note, uttered verbal demands, and hid his hand inside his jacket as if concealing a weapon. After receiving the stolen money, he fled the bank on foot. There were no injuries as a result of the robbery. As members of the Golden Police Department search for the robber, three schools in the vicinity were placed on lock down for safety reasons. A spokesperson for JEFFCO Public Schools advised the schools affected were Golden High School, Bell Middle School, and The Johnson Program. Investigators believe the JV Bandit is also responsible for robbing: October 9, 2008 October 14, 2008 He was dubbed the JV Bandit due to the varsity or letterman type jacket worn and depicted in the surveillance photographs. The jacket is described a dark jacket with tan sleeves and has no noticeable markings.
